squonto is free like the wind......

Squonto was the last and onldy dog we have at the 3 dog night hostel I couldn't take off the leash yet. because if I would he just would start running  and nothing can stop him, I mean  he is one kind of dog he never wants to stop, he does not have the time even for a snack on a run  while every one else does stop and take a snack he is the one jumping in his harness, crying and ready to go. I mean if I would take him off leash he would start running right away no time to listen and after 10 miles he would look around....well where is everybody? well anyway  lets keep running....and he would run and run for ever.....lol... but now I took him on a leash every morning as i did my shores within the dog yard scooping poo, watering and let all the other dogs running free and relax  and he  at night the same thing again only I took him with me watering the greenhouse as well, howling water from the pon doing everything with him on the leash while everyone else was running free around me. the idea was to make him relax kinda teach him it not always means as soon as I take him of the leash he has to be ready to go nuts..... some times ever sled dog hero has to take some time of relax and enjoy life, right. and I tried to teach him that and then I recognized   he got tired of being on the leash  and  I had the skijoring  harness on me all the time so I thought  well take the whole thing of and let him drag the leash and the harness behind him so I could catch him just in case...... but oh wonder he didn't too off he just stood close by and was watching me all the time.......well lets go crazy I though and took everything of him and let him free  maybe only for the second time in his 7- 8 years of life.....I only got him the last year kinda....and damned I thought as he kinda started through to take off.....f.,........ but he only went to his cage I had him once awhile and he went right into the cage...wow I thought....sweet.......and i called him and he came took a relaxed sniff and went kinda easy to his dog house and layed  down... totally free everybody was running around free and squonto took it easy and layed down......awesome... then i called him gave him a snack and he went straight back to his house relaxing....awesome I thing he got it......what a hero.....and I know he   is a smart ass I mean jet his crazy sister is my  super leader star and I finally got squonto to run in lead as well since his pre owner  only run him in wheel his whole life....damned i know this pupp has potential it just took some time to figure that out...can't wait till our trails dry out and I can take the pupps for a walk every morning now all can run free........can't wait....:)

well and  it only worked out so well  since we  work together with  a  animal psychologist form germany and we speak dog at the 3 dog night hostel it is kinda funny because actually it makes total sense to  act like a dog and not  ask the dogs to act like a human and since we do that  the dogs understand me....its really funny and actually total logic   we just forgot that dogs are not human and  now I know what to do to keep the dogs  from running away from the yard at least I will try since jet went to the hwy couple times....how we do that i tell you next time/...:)

we speak dog....

well since I hooked up with an animal psychologist and  wolfs expert we do speak dog at the 3 dog night hostel. It is actually pretty funny because we are all expect usually the dogs understand us not the other way around and since we are made by god and so much smarter then animals we should learn their language ....right. well and  kinda arrogant we are I am I thought I'm actually pretty good with the dogs but I still could learn more.....and now I watch my dogs how they do speak with each other and I do the same and guess what the do understand me.... I don't have to scream at all I don't have to talk  alot even if I do like talking to the dogs once awhile but the understand me better if I talk less....and it works totally fine, I snarl at them, I show my teeth, I lift up my lips, turn my head to the side or yawing  and thats all it takes an d we do communicate  awesome together, we share bones now all to together I can feed all my dogs loose now and they do all wait till I get to right bowl sure once awhile i do have to snarl at them because especially the young crazy guy's like tyson and rambo like to sneak in but it is totally fine after I talked to them and looked  rambo deep into his sweet little crazy eyes. well he is not happy to wait but he does it also tyson if  he snarls at some other dog because he wants to protect his bone what ist ok kinda I can go to him talk to him and he gives me his bone.....also not quite  happy about it but he does it and I give it to him back anyway because he was a good boy and so I can let all my 14 dogs run around free now and bone lay everywhere around at the dog yard and they do share. about the bones noodle the sweet little lady does provide the whole dog yard with bones  she just jumps into the woods and comes out with a  whole moose leg or any other bone and I have no clue where she got it from but the point is every body shares with every body in the dog yard now it is totally sweet.they all run loose and since I take the old once off all day and night long they kinda get more happy and some times I have the feeling they like to say thanks for that and they do really protect me. gumpy for example big white old dog he is always around me kind to make sure I'm fine and if dogs snarl and bark at each other he goes between the dogs and me every time, kinda funny. and they also teach the young guy's a lesson  about team work and happiness. and all what it takes is to watch your dogs and  don't expect them to understand you try it the other way around and learn to speak dog.....it is fun big time and actually pretty easy and it totally makes sense....wow

because in the end we are all just sled dogs running for happiness , right?

real Alaskan wilderness floating trip

I'm always looking for something special for a real Alaska like deal for you guys and I think I found something really special. but before I can let you guys do it I have to do it myself right so not only guy guess have all the fun. so I took two kayaks and a little kid and a guy with 30 years experience in kayaking all over north america and here we go we went off. It was his first time on the river and driving a jet boot what means he didn't know the river and as I thought damned the water looks really shallow I would even go there with the canoe we hit the sandbank...lol....damned so we had to dig the boot out 3 guys trying to lift pull push a jet boot...it was kinda fun and the water is still cold...but actually it was kinda a good lesson about what can happened out there  right so we enjoyed it kinda  only my pans and feet get kinda wett and freaking cold....anyway the kid did read some old  books and so we find our way off the riverbank just like the old days kinda funny. finally after 35 minutes in cold water we kept going and thats why if you go for kayaking you need to have some  clothes to change. I did kinda a smart guide am I...lol....so we went up the river find a nice spot and dropped the kayaks off so far the Salcha river is beautiful wild but nice. and we started floating back and I have to say kayaking  is more fun as canoing I think it is different and it takes some times to figure bit out but since your butt basically sits right on the water it feels more like you are part of nature  and much closer to the action....fun big time...so we went down the salcha river and into the kinda sunset
we got here at that time of the year....well what can I say....awesome......the river is nice and wild enough to have fun but safe enough for first timer....so I love it and you can see some fish once awhile too....didn't see some bears jet or moose but they are out there we also saw lots of beautiful camping spots and sometimes you just float with the current and you feel like being part of all that beauty around you damned thats alaska.....wild and beautiful......since we get stuck on the sandbank we didn't went up all the way so  we floated back within 2 h kinda by going up the river 45 minutes driving I mean....lol ...if I would add our little sandbank adventure there we would of had the right distance but well next time we make it right. since I start learning now  how to read the river alittle you learn fast to know where to go or where better not....sometimes some boots come by like nuts and make some waves what is kinda fun if you like that kinda fun and do not panic......but even if something happens  you got a life west  and just hold on to your boot right....the river is not that deep since we hit the sandbank anyway and you just jump back on the boot and live is fun again.......maybe you like to stop anyway on one of the beautiful riverbanks and make a fire for the fish you caught....thats alaska right wild and free......damned I get hooked already on that river  especially since some good friends told me you can get up that river for 100 miles.....d see caribu, bears and what ever...for some overnight canoe camping trips...... damned I can't wait to try that out.....but first guy's have fun that summer on that river and enjoy alaska wild and free

Float Alaska Club

3 dog night Hostel was looking for awhile to find some good business partner to offer something special to give everybody an new picture of Alaska and his beauty without feeling like a tourist. we would love to to show you guy's the real Alaska. so i was running through the whole state of alaska just to find for you guy's the best deal and of course to discover alaska myself......well by the way I do love to run as well so I found an awesome deal for your guy's and the opportunities are huge and I'm so excited can't wait to get everything done and ready to go  but I can't cut myself into  10 pieces or so not that I like to but you know what I mean. well anyway I met a cool and real Alaska guy at the salcha marina and  he had everything I was looking for and he has a vision and he is crazy enough to go for it just like me....awesome so her we go and can offer you guys now a nice floating trip with the "float alaska Club" up the salcha river wish is a beautiful one and he is wild and far away form town streets and any civilization it is just awesome out there. and so we will take you up the river with a boot and let you float down by yourself and you can take you time enjoy the wild you will see lots of animals may,e bears, moose and much more you can fish or just enjoy a beautiful float through the great wilderness of Alaska and if you like you can even do multi day trips now up the salcha river an touch the wild where no one else has been before except mister moose or lady bear. the river is kinda easy to float still you have to watch out what you are doing. you can fish for arctic graling , northern pike and salmon of course wish comes up the rivers here around  august . you could do nice hiking and floating trips stay in nice cabins out of now where and enjoy the real wilderniss and peace of alaska. and I don;t even can think yet about the opportunities I found there for the winter.....damned i can't wait the hit the river by dog sled.....

flying greenhouse

well this summer we thought at the 3 dog night hostel we do need a greenhouse and some fresh veggies also some nice flowers to make everything look very fancy. So I made it better then last year and build a nice  big green house. braced it up very well I thought  put some nice wooden boxes in filed them up with soil and were watering every day and the dogs did awesome by helping me. Noodle just curled up right where I was digging  for dirt because it was nice and cool Monsterbaby was always laying  right in the way so I had to take the wheelbarrow always around him and the dogs just loved it to walk right over my fresh and well mad beth, awesome team work I can tell you. and they helped digging I can tell you especially right there where I was going to put some plants grrrrrrr.....but the best friend of all was the wind....one day i look out at the greenhouse and everything looked just fine  5 sec later the whole greenhouse was blowing away.....it was gone and I found it 300 feet further away nice I try to lifted up but damned it was heavy how could the wind ....damned how could he.....anyway by my self  there was no way to carry that back  I needed 4 guys  for 4 corners. well I guess I have to throw a sled dog party to get some guy's over here. I cam up with a sled dog hippie party for the weekend and some friend came over to help. we put it back in place I nailed it town pulled some rope to tie it to the ground filled up all the corners with dirt and now I hope it will stay awhile. afterwards some  people told me my greenhouse was not the only one in the area that was flowing away...kinda funny... and maybe I should stick with the dogs and  do the gardening in my next live......

well anyway I will see how the greenhouse now will turn out since jetti took some pots down and i left some pots outside over night and of course it froze up that night.....awesome i guess I need a new hobby....:)

First I though we should make the moms drive a summer sled dog car with a bunch of crazy sled dogs and while they were driving the cart they should catch a pot with a beautiful flower in it and of course keep driving, but well that maybe would be kinda to crazy even for the craziest mom  out there. so we made dad drive with the kids and the mom's gathered around the bonfire and had fun watching the kids and dads playing.  fun break time for the moms at the 3 dog night hostel because on mothers day we took care about dad and the kids and they had fun big times.  we had a little fun park set up so the dogs could drive around the little lake and make kinda a  loop like an 8, fun ti drive  anyway. fist it takes a while to get used to the cart on wheels but after the dads and the kids get a hang of it they did like to stop at all anymore. dad became 3 - 4 dogs and the kids took 2  super hero 3 dog night hostel dogs. and didn't like to get off that cart anymore....one more time dad just one more time......well then dad jumped on the cart mom did run  in front of the cart also a bunch of kids so it was a fun party at the 3 dog night hostel on our summer sled dog fun park. well after that the kids get hungry big time so I came up with a bonfire and an old east german recipe for a cookie made  off a sweet dough on a bonfire (knueppelkuechen) and the kids jumped right from the dog cart to the fire. of course it took awhile till the dough went ready  on the stick you had to hold over the fire so the kids gave  mom and dad the stick and took of playing with the dogs again.... and we all let the dogs run around free so we had now bunch on crazy kids running around at the 3 dog night hostel dog yard and also  some happy sled dogs . then we put  the kids all up on dog houses and from there they could feed the dogs safely with dog treats what was fun big time.


and the 3 dog night sled dogs did awesome with the kids  even with the cookies they took them very gentle out of the kids hands.  so and the moms and dads were sitting relaxed at the bone fire chatting and having fun so everybody was happy and had a great day at the 3 dog night hostel " Mothers day party"....it was really fun  especially the part as the moms did run in front of the sleds and dads and kids tried  to keep up with mom down the trail so we did actually some activities for everybody. it was cool but now it was time for a nice relaxed BBQ since we burned some calories chasing the dogs down the trails with mom.

it was really a fun party and I'm so proud of my dogs again they did awesome....and I think they do have fun now too running on the cart in the summer.....

first 3 dog night canoe and hiking wilderness tour

well the time was right to take some crazy sled dogs on the water and head out for a fun canoe trip. the 3 dog night hostel summer season is starting soon so we had to find out if we still can do our canoe tours because since the do build a new bridge  over the Tannana river the dike they build as well maybe  did cut our  little slough off here. so we went out to find out....and in the beginning we really thought it will be more a hiking then a canoe tour.....but we had fun and so we walked the first part with the canoes through the sallow water. as we found some deeper spots we jumped into the canoe very excited  and ready to go crazy......as we went around the first corner and found the first beaver dam right there. so we jumped out again and walked around the little beaver dam and had fun again...:)...it was a nice day not to hot not to cold, a bunch of crazy friends and here we go. ......most of the time I drove zigzag because me wheel dog wasn't into the gee and haw thing at all so i basically did that canoe tour twice.....but we still had fun and enjoyed the beauty of Alaska as we saw miss moose with a little baby calves....but they took of because our crazy sled dog hippie lady Lotti really likes to talk.....lol...all day long so every fish now knows every news of Fairbanks now, Alaska. the float the went through that river a week ago changed alot since last year but the beaver dams are still there a lot actually and they are already out building staff so we had to walk once awhile cross some beaver dams, walk through shallow water had fun and laughed alot....went into the river bank once awhile took some trees with us their were floating around tipped the canoes once in awhile almost.....and had a great time without snow......well actually there was still alot of ice and snow around on the river and some times thanks to my awesome steering wheel dog we drove right into the snow.....took again some trees with us and had a fun zigzag tour on the water. the first canoe tour I always wonder did I miss the sign to get out or where is the take out......but after fun 5 hours and getting a little worried we found our truck and the take out.....still we had fun but we had to figure that because the shallow water and  because of the zigzag steering skills of my wheel dog it took us  almost  1'5 to 2 hours longer then last year.....guess i got to cut the 3 dog night hostel canoe adventure a little and  for the fun we  add a bonfire at the and where we get some good fun, some sausage, march mellows to let a fun tour and day go out kinda sweet and funny of course.....

because in the end we are all sled dogs running for happiness even without snow......but next time i will take my leader superstar with on the tour and maybe jib as a good wheel dog....lol....should be even fun for the dogs and a nice way to learn something new for them

well today my dogs help me to build my green house and we almost got it done even the flower beds are ready only that the dogs now  love to dig right in those beds even if the do the whole backyard for them nope the have to dig in my flower bed....well guess it is good fertilizer. anyway the summer season  getting started on may the 15th and we still have to do some staff till then. the dogs have to learn the new summer education trail an I have to train Jib the strongest dog in Alaska to pull a log so I can have some competition with people that mean  they are stronger then Jib. No chance but the only problem is jib will do it only if I put some snacks ever 5 feet on the ground so he follows basically the snacks what is ok and he will be still faster as most of the people but if we ever wanna go on a pulling competition I guess that would work there. so we have to work on that......other then that the dogs enjoy the summer laziness only they do still have the energy from the winter and the wanna go so badly....if it is warm they are lazy and sleepy but as soon as it gets a little colder the energy and power is back....and they going nuts when I take them off leash........

anyway we are getting ready for a fun summer season...and  can't wait already for the next winter season to come up.....till then guy's happy trails and have fun....

well  the 3 dog night hostel block is back on the world wide web. after we got some trouble with with our old website we finally got a new one. but we took the block off because for some reason they couldn't figured out to put both together on one page. but since I had some fan's here on the block and found many new sled dog hippies over the winter I thought we got to run that block again just to let you guy's know whats going on at the crazy sled dog hostel "3 dog night " in Salcha, Alaska especially with our crazy sled dogs. well one bad thing we have to tell you we had to give back the Mackey we made a goodbye party for them wish was fun but still it was kinda tough to give those little hero's back after I got them for almost 8 month. it was hard to let go after all we went through and had fun with but I guess thats part of a sled dog  live....but we do take some of Lance Mackeys crazy puppies over the summer and they should keep us busy but I still will miss all my new little crazy friends,......damned it was a good winter season and I can't wait for the next one. well so far the spring and summer goes well we build a summer sled dog course  so people can try to run my old heros on a sled with wheel......it is fun tough  and the dogs like it too something new to play with....well other then that we wait till the water gets dry and we can start walking the dogs every morning for about 2 hours through the backyard of Alaska where they can run free and crazy as much as they want. thats part of our deal with the dogs....trust and happiness....
